One of the great challenges facing our current society is to guarantee the supply of water—a resource as scarce as it is essential for life—to an increasingly large global population concentrated in cities.
This major challenge becomes even more significant in areas of severe water stress, such as the Region of Murcia. This situation, coupled with environmental phenomena that have occurred in recent years—such as the DANA of 2019 and its effect on the already damaged Mar Menor—suggests that the consequences of climate change may become more frequent and severe in the coming years.
In this context, the Region of Murcia is the ideal location for our group, committed to the preservation of the environment, to continue promoting the digital transformation of operations and processes in the field of integrated water cycle management and environmental health, offering collaboration and innovative solutions to administrations, industries, and citizens, in order to achieve more sustainable territories on their path toward ecological transition, enabling them to reach the objectives of the 2030 Agenda.
Dinapsis deploys benchmark digital services for the digital transformation of water management and the environmental health of territories, promoting the development of smart, resilient, and green cities.
This is how Dinapsis Región de Murcia was born, a space located in the historic center of the three-millennia-old city of Cartagena, based on technology and digital tools, and specialized in topics that are closely linked to our Region, which is already a benchmark in water saving, as well as in the reuse of reclaimed water:
- Efficiency in water use (within the integrated water cycle) in any of its areas: domestic, industrial, and agricultural
- Climate risk (within the environmental cycle)
Dinapsis Region of Murcia has three distinct areas for specific uses:
- An Operations Hub, from where we manage the operation of water and sewage networks 24/7, for all the municipalities where HIDROGEA is present, serving half a million inhabitants; that is, bringing water to one out of every three households in the Region of Murcia.
-
Indicators
A sample of the efficiency and sustainability of the Operational Intelligence of our Operations Hub is reflected in these indicators:Indicator 2020 2021 Variation Executed Tasks 47.300 60.200 21,4% Tasks/Operator/Day 2,08 3,11 33,1% Km/Task 13,6 10,0 36,0%

- An Innovation Lab, a space for co-creation and partnerships with companies, administrations, technology centers, startups, and universities; organizing events such as hackathons, our Dinapsis Open Challenge, presentations of the Dinapsis Digital Paper magazine, talks, interviews, etc.

- A showroom, an interactive space where we showcase various DINAPSIS solutions.

DINAPSIS Red de Hubs
DINAPSIS Region of Murcia, as a geographically localized hub, is part of the Dinapsis network of hubs, which are capable of sustainably and in real-time managing services and assets related to the integrated water cycle and environmental health of different territories, ensuring a swift and optimized operational response. This centralized operation allows for guaranteed access to new digital services for all types of municipalities, regardless of their size. Moreover, the network of hubs also includes others of a specialized nature with national cross-functional operation, such as those dedicated to Smart Metering & IoT, Water Resources and Environmental Health, or Cybersecurity.
DINAPSIS's digital solutions and services are based on disruptive technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Digital Twins, Big Data, Computer Vision, and Machine Learning. These technologies, along with the experience and information accumulated over more than 150 years of the group's history, and the integration of processes, tools, and people, constitute the three fundamental pillars of DINAPSIS, where we always talk about Digital Transformation rather than just Digitization, since we go beyond the technological aspect to always include people: Digital solutions centered around people.
Digital Transformation, Sustainability, and the Circular Economy are the main drivers in a hub that works to make our cities greener, healthier, and more livable, always operating transparently and collaboratively with all public and private stakeholders in the Region of Murcia.
