Presentation of the Guide to good practices in incorporating social clauses in public contract

Responsibility (CSR) to analyse implementation of this system, which places value on social, environmental and good governance initiatives in companies in public tender processes.

The president of the Port of Cartagena, Joaquín Segado; the Vice-Chancellor for Research at the San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), Estrella Núñez; the CEO of Hidrogea, avier Ybarra; and the director of the San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) and Cartagena Port Authority (APC) International Chair for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Víctor Meseguer, presented this guide to good practices in the incorporation of social clauses in public contracts in the region.

oaquín Segado stressed how it was a means of facilitating the work of government, putting the emphasis on people most in need and ‘in achieving smart, sustainable and inclusive growth, while helping ensure public funds are used ethically and responsibly’.

Víctor Meseguer stressed that this work confirms how the four local councils in the Region of Murcia and the Autonomous Community Department of Social Policy have pioneered implementing these bidding conditions, which reward responsibility in companies and thus in outsourced projects that benefit society as a whole.

Vice-Chancellor Estrella Núñez highlighted UCAM’s research, development and innovation work in technology, processes and procedures to solve real problems to the benefit of society, such as this study.

Finally, Ybarra reiterated Hidrogea’s commitment to promoting CSR as a principle applied to the company’s daily work in both environmental and social aspects.
